Nyob zoo.

Baby, you’ve found me and my lovely ole’ blog!  My name is Ariana Yang. As all minorities must assert: I am Hmong. (I kid. I’m in love with my culture, too. You’ll find I’m a proud person.) We’re a cultural minority found in southern China, the southeast Asian countries, the US, France, Australia (that’s where my grandma and grandpa live!), even the French Guyana. We’re famous for our textile and embroidery designs. We’re also famous for our spiritual beliefs colliding with modern-day medicine. (Go Youtube ”Doogie Howser Hmong” which is a much better portrayal of Hmong people with real Hmong actors actually speaking Hmong; or you can check out ”Grey’s Anatomy Hmong” which shows Hmong people who can afford to fly in a txiv neeb in a chopper.) Oh yeah, my sisters call me Nonnie. I called my Mii character “Nonnie Nottingham”. She’s super-cute; ponytail to the side, short, studdy, big red thick-framed glasses, and an expression that says :0. I don’t play a lot, but I can tell you I am a “Pro” in tennis.

“Until time stopped/ and you stayed seventeen forever.”

I am 18. So I am a young’n and an adult, but I strongly exaggerate the a-d-u-l-t word. I’m still growing up. :) I love being a teenager. I love learning about new responsibilities. I love the friendships. The late nights. The discord. The gossip. The love. The love. The love.

I guess you can call me an oddball. I’m a little of everything; a little into everything. “Jack of all Trades” if you must. But I actually hate that because I wish there were one thing I was completely and utterly passionate about. One thing I could dedicate my life to. I’m into visual arts. (But I can’t touch ceramics; I can’t even make a pinch-pot!) Recently I’ve become a lot better in acrylics, though I’m sure after the big art exams I’ll make some real art. Not some IB junk. x) I take photos. I love the old-school Black&White photography where you develop pictures in the darkroom. I like volleyball. I like “The Office” and “The Flight of the Conchords”. I’ve loved Coldplay since 2000. I play guitar and sing. Oh yes, I’m one of those girls.

So you’d expect me to be into some really artsy, music-loving, guitar-banging indie hipster intellect, culture-freak, “Te amo, mi novia.” kind of guy, right?

Nah, my boyfriend’s a normal, soccer-playing, smart, generously cheek-dimpled guy. Oh, he’s wonderful.

Poo, I’m tired. What is a ping?
